Measurement of electricity consumption using Software
Everything you need to do to measure your electricity consumption with Software - install software that displays power consumption. We prefer to use GPU-Z... This is free software that reads the information of the video card. Please note that this method measures power consumption for your graphics cards only!
Follow these steps to measure power consumption through GPU-Z:
- Install and run GPU-Z,
- Go to the tab Sensors,
- Find GPU Chip Power Draw,
- You can see the current power consumption on the right.
Measurement of electricity consumption using wattmeter
The most accurate way to measure power consumption of your whole rig is the use of a so-called wattmeter. A wattmeter is a device that plugs into an electrical outlet and connects to the power supply cord.
The digital display will show the amount of electricity consumed. You can view the power consumption in watts or amperes. Below you can see a typical wattmeter that is sold in every electronics store.
