There are many questions about the overclocking settings and the drop in the hash rate after a few minutes of mining. We'll explain why this happens and how to deal with it.

Why does RTX 3080/3090 hashrate drop after a few minutes?
The memory chips on the RTX 3080 and 3090 aren't cooled enough. This leads to throttling of the video card after a few minutes of mining. The core temperature of the graphics card may still be low, but the memory chips (with separate sensors) are overheating.
How to check if the video card is throttling?
- Set GPU-Z.
- Run GPU-Z.
- Make sure the correct graphics card is selected (bottom left).
- Click the tab Sensors.
- Scroll down and find the sensor PerfCap Reason (performance limitation).
If you hover over PerfCap Reason, you will see the possible reasons for the performance limitation.
If the graph is on the right painted purple, the video card is throttling... If at the same time the temperature is below 70C, the cause of throttling is overheating of the memory (RAM) of the chip.
How do I fix RTX 3080/3090 memory overheating?
Increase fan speed to 90% - 100%... This is the simplest solution.
Another solution is to add thermal spacers to the back of the video card - between the video card board and the back panel where the memory chips are located.
Disassembling the graphics card may void your warranty and / or cause permanent damage.

The settings listed are moderate and should work on (almost) all graphics cards. Higher speed is possible with more aggressive settings. Always apply these settings gradually!
